Vaishali Hollands is Chief Product Owner at Manulife. In her current role, she is charged with moving the digital strategy forward and enhancing the online experience for customers in the individual insurance space. This includes establishing agile methods and data analytics tools to ensure digital outcomes are enhancing net promoter scores. In addition, she is leveraging all our capabilities and talent globally for the excellent execution of processes within Life and Living Benefits.
Vaishali is a financial services professional with over 15 years of experience gained at the largest financial institutions in Canada. She immediately understands where processes need support through new target operating models, stakeholder engagement models, lean process implementation, automation and/or right shoring. She is a valued leader known for her ability to provide transparency and candid discussions to stakeholders and build teams that focus on execution with excellence.
At Manulife, she developed and executed on the target operating model for the CFO function for Global Wealth and Asset Management which determined not only which functions were global, but which remained local. This also entailed detailed process work to ensure the Gather➝ Report➝ Analyze➝ Advisory functions were aligned with the correct financial teams. Her leadership of location strategy for the largest transformation program in Global Wealth and Asset Management operations, led to 30% roles being right shored and surpassed cost savings target for the program. She has led many automation projects which were then followed by new data and analytics programs that helped the business have transparency in operational efficiency.
At TD Bank, she supported the largest technology program (in Commercial Banking) as lead for Change Management and went on to create a central team responsible for calculating probability of default calculations for Commercial Borrowers. In these capacities she worked closely with TD Executives from Transformation, Risk Management, Product and Operations.
Vaishali started her banking career as a Commercial Lender, working both sides of the credit process, sales and credit/risk. On the sales side, her customers came from a variety of industries and had revenues between $5 million to $20 million. As a credit analyst, she managed a portfolio with over $20 million in borrowings and an overall higher risk profile.
Vaishali received her MBA from the Schulich School of Business – York University in Toronto. Her specializations were in Finance and Operations.
